World Food Day 2022 Leave NO ONE Behind

World food day is one of the special days celebrated on 16 October every year. This food day was first named in 1979 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations or commonly abbreviated as FAO in Roma. However, Food and Agriculture Organization started this world food day in 1981 and continues every year until this day

World food day have its own theme every single year. For example, 2021 world food day theme is “Our Actions are our future, better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life (four betters)” That 2021 world food day highlighting sustainable agriculture and food systems.

This 2022 world food day have very special theme that is “Leave NO ONE behind”. The theme aims to remind that there are still many people out there who is still lack healthy food so that many of them are malnutrition. FAO said that food supply is not a problem for the world today. Current food production can actually meet the needs of the whole world. However, the problem is in the access and availability of nutritious food. Also the world is currently experiencing various challenges, such as Covid-19, political conflicts, and even war conflicts. According to Food and Agriculture Organization, the main victims of this nutritional deficiency are more than 80 percent of the poor living in the rural areas and most of them are still depend on agriculture and natural resources. People who experience this still find it difficult to gain access to finance, technology, and training.

To solve this problem, the younger generation is the main character that responsible for raising awareness about the importance of sustainable food. Because of that, Sustainesia who is the community based social enterprise with a mission to build food sustainability ecosystem, will hold an Eathink Market Fest which will be present on October 15-16 at Alam Sutera, South Tangerang, Banten.
