Project Child Indonesia is a locally run community-based non-profit organization and has focused on building sustainable development among coastal and riverside communities in Indonesia. PCI believes that the communities living in such areas are the most vulnerable groups especially when it comes to access to education, health information, and natural disaster awareness. The vision of PCI is for every child in Indonesia to have the opportunity to learn, to have a healthy start, and to feel supported and secure living in a clean environment that is prepared for natural disasters. PCI is currently working in Yogyakarta (D.I Yogyakarta), Pacitan (East Java) & Fakfak (Papua) with its main office located in Yogyakarta.
We are currently seeking new interns who share the same passion and driven to change lives through our projects. The Internship Program provides an opportunity to combine your education with hands-on working experience in our specialized field; Practical Health, Environment and Disaster Education, Creating Holistic Learning Experience, Technology Education, and Volunteer Engagement.
There’ll be 2 internship programs: Regular, and Project-based
Regular Internship Program
Regular Internship Program
Interns typically work at Project Child Indonesia for 2 to 5 months. It varies on the intern’s position and period of internship program proposed. Project Child’s regular internship program is conducted for 3 to 5 months depending on Indonesia academic calendar. We provide a number of fixed positions with a permanent job description in a predetermined time period.

Beside regular internship program, PCI is also providing project based internship program. We provide positions with flexible job descriptions adjusting projects to be worked on in vulnerable times which vary according to demand. The objective of the project-based program is to provide an internship learning platform to students or fresh graduates that could only contribute for limited amount of time. Each would be given different project title, duration, duties, and tasks depending on the discussion beforehand.
Although your responsibility remains the same, the benefit is a bit different. Project Child Indonesia could not be any Visa sponsor for International applicant for project based internship program. Intern also could not change worksite unless it is already been discussed as the part of internship agreement.
Any regular internship position if it meets the requirement
Project Based Intern
Open to university students, recent graduates, and young professionals.
Strong communication abilities and organizational skills.
Proactive, self-driven, resourceful, and humble individuals with a willingness to learn.
Previous work experience is not required, however, experience in the field of teaching and experience working with schoolchildren is considered an asset.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work in a multicultural people of different national and cultural background.

PCI’s interns are not entitled to any monetary remuneration. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be provided by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
The interns are responsible for obtaining the necessary visas and for arranging their travel.
PCI’s Internship Program provides many opportunities for young people who are inspired by the ideas and works of PCI to gain more practiced skills by working on PCI’s projects. This program is open for all who are eager and excited to work voluntarily and want to directly manage PCI’s projects. The projects themselves are designed to provide the children, as our main target groups, many opportunities to improve their learning capacity. By participating as an intern in PCI you will gain more skills and improve them, these skills such as confidence, communication, responsibility, teamwork, building innovations, and also:
